About Torin Regier
I help small business owners sell, run a beer keg software company, and tinker with side projects. Some that go somewhere, some that don’t. I split my time between working on deals and exploring the mountains of British Columbia.
I didn’t set out to be an entrepreneur. I wasn’t slinging lemonade as a kid or flipping sneakers in high school. In fact, starting a business didn’t even cross my mind until my final year of university, when a friend pitched me on an idea and I said yes without really knowing what I was signing up for.
That yes turned into a decade-long crash course in small business while co-founding a keg tracking software company for craft breweries, launching a cleaning business, and growing a consulting firm from 3 to a 25-person team. Along the way, I learned most of what I know the hard way: making decisions before I had all the information, navigating growth without a roadmap, and figuring out what mattered to customers, partners, and employees by trial and error.
What I’ve come to understand is that building a small business is a deeply personal act. And so is selling one.
Today, I work as a business broker with Chinook Business Advisory, helping other founders exit the companies they’ve poured years of their life into. I bring a founder’s perspective to that work by not just looking at EBITDA and deal structure, but helping make sense of the emotional and identity-level questions that come up when it’s time to move on.
This site is where I share the stuff that doesn’t fit neatly into a CIM or pitch deck. Stories from the trenches, lessons from exits (both mine and others’), and thoughts on the blurry intersection of business, health, and life. It’s part reflection, part resource written for anyone who’s ever built something, considered selling it, or just wondered what might come next.
